Privacy Policy
This policy describes how Young Indian Revolution Pvt. Ltd. ("we", "us") handles personal information when adults browse or shop on the Ekdant store. It covers account and guest orders, delivery, payments, customer support, and the choices available to you.
01Who we are
Young Indian Revolution Pvt. Ltd. operates the Ekdant online store. For privacy questions, requests or complaints, contact us at support@ekdantbooks.com.
02Data we collect
Depending on how you use the store, we may collect:
- Account details — your name, email address, password and, optionally, your phone number, provided when you register. Passwords are stored in a protected form and are not available to staff as readable text.
- Delivery addresses — recipient name, phone number, street address, city, state and PIN code, and optional delivery map coordinates if you choose to share them, so we can fulfil your order.
- Order history — the books you bought, amounts, and payment status.
- Cart and wishlist — which may be associated with an account or saved in browser storage to support shopping.
- Technical data — device and usage information such as pages visited, browser details and interaction with products or checkout. The site loads Google Tag Manager for analytics and advertising tags. Page and shopping events are sent to its data layer; some signed-in and checkout events may also include contact details. Configured tag providers may process this information under their own notices and settings.
03Why we use it
- To operate optional customer accounts, including sign-in, saved addresses, order history and account features.
- To maintain your cart and wishlist and provide a guest checkout option.
- To process, pack, ship and track your orders, and to handle returns or refunds.
- To respond to your questions and provide customer support.
- To meet tax, accounting and other legal obligations — GST invoicing, for example.
- To protect the store and prevent fraud and abuse.
We do not sell personal information. Google Tag Manager loads measurement and advertising tags on the site. Page and shopping activity, and some contact details during signed-in or checkout events, may be processed by the providers configured in those tags under their own privacy notices and settings. When you create an account, save your details, or place an order, you agree that Ekdant Books may use the WhatsApp phone number you provide to send order confirmations, shipping and delivery updates, offers, promotional messages, and reminders about an abandoned cart. This applies to new and existing customers whose details are held by us. You can opt out of promotional and cart-reminder messages at any time by replying STOP or contacting support@ekdantbooks.com. We will honor your opt-out; messages needed to complete an active order may still be sent.
04Your consent
We use information as needed to provide the store and fulfil a purchase, respond to requests, protect the service, and meet applicable legal obligations. Where processing relies on your consent, you may withdraw it by contacting support@ekdantbooks.com. Withdrawal does not affect processing already carried out, and some records may need to be retained for legal, tax, accounting or dispute purposes.
05Who we share it with
We share relevant information with service providers that help us operate the store:
- PayU — our payment gateway, for processing payments and refunds.
- Courier and logistics partners — the recipient name, address and phone number printed on your parcel.
- Website, cloud and technology providers — who host the store, operate its systems, and help secure and maintain it.
- Measurement and advertising providers — loaded through Google Tag Manager to receive page, shopping-event and, in some flows, contact information.
- Government authorities — where we are required by law, a court order or a valid enforcement request to disclose it.
06Children's data
Our books are designed for children aged 2 to 6, while the store and checkout are intended for adults buying on their behalf. Please do not submit a child's personal information unless it is necessary to fulfil an order. If you believe a child has provided information directly to us, contact support@ekdantbooks.com so we can review it and take appropriate action.
07Cookies and local storage
The site uses cookies and browser storage for sessions, shopping features and preferences. Google Tag Manager may load analytics or advertising tags, which can use cookies or similar technologies subject to their own settings and your available consent choices. You can manage or clear cookies and local storage through your browser; doing so may affect sign-in, cart and wishlist features.
08How long we keep it
We keep account and shopping information for as long as needed to provide the service and manage your account. We retain order, payment and invoice records for the periods required for tax, accounting, legal and dispute-resolution purposes. Technical logs and analytics data are kept according to the relevant system settings and provider retention practices. You may request deletion; we will delete or de-identify information where we can, subject to records we must retain.
09Your rights
You may contact us to:
- Ask us about the information associated with your account or orders.
- Ask us to correct information that is inaccurate or incomplete.
- Request deletion of information, subject to records we need to retain.
- Ask how to exercise privacy rights available to you under applicable law.
- Raise a privacy complaint or withdraw a consent where processing is based on consent.
For privacy requests, write to support@ekdantbooks.com. We may need to verify your identity before acting on a request and will respond within the period required by applicable law.
10How we protect it
We use technical and organisational safeguards designed to protect information, including encrypted connections and protected authentication credentials. Access is limited to what is needed to operate the service. No internet service can be guaranteed completely secure. If a personal data breach occurs, we will take steps required by applicable law.
